Candid Thought: Experiencing Wanderlust

Traveling, to me, is one of the most incredible things I've ever experienced.  Wanderlust, the desire to travel, is something that I would say that I definitely have often!  The actual process from journeying on an airplane (or boat or car) isn't really what I'm talking about, although that is definitely part of the grand adventure.  I love having the freedom to be spontaneous, try new, and culturally different things and be in a diverse environment in different cities and countries.  If you haven't experienced the joy, developed from traveling yet, then I am truly sorry.  I highly recommend it:) (but keep reading!)

This was when I was 8, and my family visited this cafe in Paris, France:)
I dream of going back one day!

I love how through traveling one can meet interesting people, have first time experiences and try new and sometimes strange things!  You may have heard about "culture shock" before, and I can confirm that it really is a thing.  But don't let the fear of the unknown scare you, culture shock is just adapting to a different style and way of life and daily routines.  Personally I think that seeing all of the tourist spots (such as gift shops and well known museums) are overrated because they're not authentic.  I find it more intriguing to find where locals hang out and visit the more uncrowded places; not only are these places authentic to the area but are there less tourists there!  I guess though when in a city, I guess it is important to view the monuments...

(In Washington, D.C.) It was hard to not get any other tourists in this picture!

I think though, the main thing about wanderlust, is the fact that adventure can be found everyday in your daily lives.  The trait of being spontaneous is really what is important and what makes adventuring so fun.  Look for opportunities everyday in which you can find adventure.

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.  And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28:19-20

And if you go back to Paris, pick me up on the way, would ya? And if I ever go to Israel, I'll pick you up, k? We can watch P&P on the way. Good plan. hehe
